McCain or Obama? the economy will suffer under both

The Presidential race is now down to two, Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama with the only suspense left being the VP candidate choices. For conservatives it's wait until 2012 as for many of us both men are unacceptable. I see a continuing struggle for the economy as neither one offers anything to help move the economy along in a positive direction.

Worried about the high price of gas? Keep worrying as both plan on fixing the prices through forced conservation and alternative energies which won't be practical for many years. Both plan on keeping the ethanol push which has had no effect in lowering prices. Both endorse carbon taxes which will be added as carbon and gas taxes. Neither one will increase domestic production or refining. Finally they both oppose the obscene profits made by big oil. Okay, they will take more of the oil profits which is great for the government but does nothing for the price at the pump because they won't give it back to "The People". The government must never do with less. So get used to high energy prices because the next President no matter who it is will do nothing about it except invest billions more in inefficient technologies while doing nothing for the present and near future.

Senator Obama has already said he will raise taxes on the rich. He also said he will raise the Social Security tax which will be a tax increase on every working American rich and poor. Both endorse carbon taxes which when applied to business will be passed on to the consumer IE: every American. The Democrats will gain in both houses so they will push through tax increases on every taxpayer one way or another. They will say it's on the rich and once again lower the standard for someone to qualify as rich, it won't be long before $50,000 a year qualifies as rich.
Senator Obama loves taxes and Senator McCain will compromise to get along.

The result will be the rich will take their money and invest it in developing countries or hide what they have left in off shore accounts like George Soros and Warren Buffet do. There will be no point in investing in U.S. companies when the after tax return will be so low. Investment will decrease meaning companies will not expand or increase payrolls or hire new employees. Foreign investment will go oversees as the dollar will continue to weaken. Americans will also be spending less in the economy as energy prices increase even more. Fewer travelling vacations, less dining out, less spent on holiday and birthday gifts, holding on to appliances and vehicles for another couple of years until they have to be replaced. Everyone else can rely on Senator Obama's hope and change and the government to solve their problems, I will prepare for and deal with the reality of less money and freedom in the near future.

I currently have a fair amount of debt but it is manageable and is being paid off at a nice rate. Under current conditions we will be in great shape in five years or less but under the potential tax increases coming up under the new administration we could be in trouble. We have a solid retirement plan in place but what would have been enough under current conditions may not be enough in the future and there will be less money to save. I think this is probably the situation for many people who will be in for a rude awakening in the near future. I will prepare by putting every spare penny into paying my debt. No extras and what we have will have to do for several years. I have already told people we will not be spending for the holidays this years. Have cancelled anything not necessary. Might as well start practicing for the future.

OH yeah and I will also have my bible out, stock up on ammunition and stay home to avoid those not like me.

Obama speaks eloquently: with a prepared speech and telepromptor

Years ago Dan Quayle misspelled potato and never heard the end of it. George Bush is ridiculed for how he says nuclear and is constantly criticized for his speaking ability. Oh yeah they are Republicans so criticism is mandatory. How about the great Messiah Obama, he is a great speaker when he has a staged audience, prepared speech and a teleprompter to follow along with. Most of all he is not to be criticized at all, never, ever, ever, about anything!

The Reverend Wright issue is over he has condemned the remarks and distanced himself issue over. Michelle is off limits, even thought she does public speeches but that does not matter she is off limits. William Ayers stop talking about him! Associations don't matter. OK so we will not talk about anyone but Obama as he is running for the most powerful position in the world.

Obama is a graduate of Harvard so he is obviously much smarter than the rest of us and knows what we need. We must listen to him as he is an attractive, young, brilliant visionary. He waxes on about Hope and Change while never telling us what the change he hopes for he actually has in mind. We have seen snippets that all seem to include massive government expansion and control over our lives. Raising taxes on the RICH! YEAH!, oh yeah and raising Social Security taxes on EVERYONE! oh and carbon taxes on EVERYONE!

Now for those brilliant speeches including comments like "If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress", oooh that would never occur to me. His most famous one was just a snippit of his speech and sounds worse than he might mean, but I think it is exactly how he feels in a speech to fellow elitists in San Francisco " So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them, or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations".

How about seeing dead people, okay so he apparently did not know the meaning of Memorial day - "On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."
So what if he got the name and location of the death camp his uncle freed wrong - oops. Auschwitz was liberated by the Red Army. No big deal SWEETIE!

"Venezuela, Cuba and Iran these countries are tiny they are no threat", two days later "Iran poses a grave threat! " Make up your mind Obama or is what you say strictly dependent upon the audience in front of you. I also notice that in the debates and live interviews he UHMS, ANDS and AAHS with the best of them. His is not fluent and struggles to find an answer.

All politician make gaffes in thier speeches and comments, sometimes it is humorous or sometimes insulting. How much grief they get depends on if the letter is a (D) or an (R). Senator Obama is not a fresh new brilliant visionary he is just another typical politician and I want to know who is behind the curtain pulling his strings.

More Congressional Grandstanding on energy

Once again the Senate paraded the "BIG OIL" executives out in front of another committee in hopes of finding out why gas prices are so high. Once again they refuse to look in the mirror and recognize that they are the problem. Congress creates a problem with the legislation they pass then forms a committee to form a commission to investigate the problem and grill the business they over-regulated and how congress needs to pass more legislation to fix the problem.

Today Senator Leahy asked why the prices were so high as according to his reasons the free market price should be $60-70 a barrel. As John Hofmeister President Shell Oil Company pointed out there is not a free market and fired back with information that has been widely published and is no big secret. Along with the obvious increase in demand by developing economies in China and India. Mr Hofmeister pointed out to the Senators some obvious hindrances to production.

"U.S. production has fallen steadily for the last 35 years. Oil production in
this country peaked in the 1970s. As U.S. consumption of oil has doubled,
domestic oil production has fallen off nearly 40 percent. Why? In large part,
this is the result of government policies that placed important oil and gas
resources off limits.

We still have a significant resource base in this country, both offshore and
onshore. The U.S. Government estimates that there are about 300 trillion
cubic feet of natural gas and more than 50 billion barrels of oil yet to be
discovered on the Outer Continental Shelf surrounding the Lower 48. When
you then add in the Alaska OCS resource, you add the potential for another
122 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 25 billion barrels of oil.

Unfortunately, 85 percent of the Lower 48 resource base is off-limits
because of Congressional moratoria.

The U.S. has enormous oil shale resources, too, that, when the technology to
extract it is mature, may provide a very significant boost to domestic energy
supply. According to Rand Corporation, the oil resource in place within the
Green River Formation, which covers portions of Colorado, Utah and
Wyoming, ranges from 1.5 to 1.8 trillion barrels, of which between 500
billion and 1.1 trillion barrels are recoverable. According to Rand, “the
midpoint in our estimate range, 800 billion barrels, is more than triple the
proven oil reserves of Saudi Arabia.” The U.S. has more oil locked in shale
than any other country on Earth but impediments exist to accessing and
developing this resource.

For the past 30 years, federal policies have restricted the availability of
domestic oil and gas resources to U.S. consumers. Such as:

• Outer Continental Shelf Moratorium Atlantic Ocean
• Outer Continental Shelf Moratorium Pacific Ocean
• Outer Continental Shelf Moratorium Eastern Gulf of Mexico
• Congressional bans on onshore oil and gas activities in specific areas
of the Rockies and Alaska
• And even a Congressional ban on doing an analysis of the resource
potential for oil and gas in the Atlantic, Pacific and Eastern Gulf of
Mexico

According to the Department of the Interior, 62 percent of all onshore
federal lands are off-limits to oil and gas development with restrictions
applying to 92 percent of all federal lands.
The Argonne National Laboratory did a report in 2004 that identified 40
specific federal policy areas that halt, limit, delay or restrict natural gas
projects. I urge you to review it – it is a long list. If I may, I offer it today, if
you would like to include it in the record.

Hundreds of lawsuits result in significant delays or eventually derail energy
projects. A 2004 report by the General Accounting Office identified 10
opportunities during the leasing and permitting process where outside parties
can sue to hold up or stop oil and gas projects on federal lands. And we are
now seeing increased litigation on offshore activities as well. The combined
weight of litigation and restrictive and uncertain policies is placing a heavy
toll on America’s ability to produce its own energy resources."
-- John Hofmeister CEO Shell oil at Senate hearings 21 May 2008

Throw in the facts of no new refineries built, no Nuclear power plants, and lawsuits now in California to shut down several wind, solar and stopping hydro plants it's no wonder production is down and prices are up. Here in Arizona we have been trying to build a much needed refinery near Yuma and after several years and locations they have to pick another spot as they can't get past environmental groups.

When demand goes up and production goes down prices will go up. Today U.S. Oil companies have the most advanced and environmentally safe extraction techniques that we have ever known with directional drilling and advance techniques to find the reserves compared to thirty years ago. It can be done in a safe way to preserve the environment while providing much needed oil and natural gas to supply us while new technologies are being developed. We also need to build new Nuclear plants and refineries, France gets 85% of it's energy from nuclear so if it's good for the Europeans it must be OK for us. Continue developing Hybrids using different energy but it will be 20-30 years before it will be available on a large scale and we need to use our own resources in the meantime. In 1994 President Clinton vetoed the new exploration bill because it would take 10-12 years. 14 years later we are hearing the same excuse, now it will only take 5-6 years and we need to get started.

While this hearing was going on the House passed a resolution to allow for suing OPEC nations under anti-trust laws and monopoly laws. How ironic our lawmakers want to sue OPEC nations for not producing enough oil while we simultaneously continue to decrease and impede our own production. Do they have any clue as to how stupid and hypocritical this makes them look. We need to get past environmental scare tactics and realize that what comes out of the earth won't hurt the earth. Conservation can help but it will not produce one drop of energy and wishful thinking never accomplished anything without solid planning and action and now is the time to act before it really does become a real crisis when OPEC nations put a bigger squeeze on the supply. Continue wishful thinking as long as it is backed up with responsible action.

Collectivism and the Truth

Many of today's liberals are very self righteous about how George Bush lied or how conservative talk radio brainwashes the people with lies. But the truth is that from early on for progressives and socialists the truth is an inconvenient nuisance that gets in the way of the Utopian socialist agenda. We frequently hear from the left that they are being oppressed when someone disagrees whit their philosophy. Yet it was under the progressive leadership of Woodrow Wilson that people were actually thrown in prison for opposing WWI, people who refused to buy Liberty bonds were marked as unpatriotic. A government force literally went door to door and anyone who opposed the war was taken in. This is an inconvenient truth the left wants us to forget as the history books in our schools are sanitized leaving out many facts.

Marx, Lenin and Stalin new that manipulation of the truth and facts could be used to control and whip the masses into a movement. Georges Sorel a hero of the left propelled the Marxist movement by holding that the Marxist prophecy, admitting that it did not make much sense, could be moved by showing Marx as a prophet not a policymaker thus the masses would absorb Marxism unquestionably as a religious dogma. The Soviet Union sold the socialist system by keeping the masses uninformed and misinformed with non-stop propaganda and state run media. Wilson and FDR also used heavy tactics of propaganda and the media willingly went along. This philosophy was adopted by many elite universities and professors in the early days of the progressive movement and has been taught for over a century now.

As some early progressives noted "Reason is a tool, but it can never be the motive force of the crowd". This continued when Al Sharpton said when confronted by the fact that the Tawana Brawley "assault" was a fake. "It doesn't matter", he was reported to have said "We're building a movement". Sharpton knew the events were not true but continued to push them as fact for the cause. This is the common thinking of many on the left. The facts are irrelevant as long as the movement prospers.

The right is not completely innocent of the same manipulation but for the left it was part of the initial doctrine from the beginning in the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth centuries and was promoted as standard practice not the exception. It was adopted and is being promoted by University and Media elites alike. Propaganda was to be used to manipulate and motivate the masses for the socialist cause and the power of the state.

In the Media journalist for decades lied about how well socialism worked in the Soviet Union. They were so enamored with the socialist ideal that they willingly turned a blind eye to the atrocities of systematic starvation of millions, the gulags for political prisoners and the thousands executed for speaking out. This is still common today, facts that get in the way of pushing the agenda are to be ignored or manipulated. Newsweek's disproved story of flushing the Quran down the toilet caused riots and death. CNN refused to report on Saddam's atrocities so they could keep their Baghdad office. NY Times putting out a story they could not confirm about McCain. CBS Evening news knowingly used forged documents. News stories intentionally leaving out relevant facts. The IPCC deliberately changing their 2001 report and changing charts to eliminate warming periods to propel global warming as unprecedented. These items are not the exception but the norm.

One simple fact the left overlooks is that disagreeing with them is not oppressing them. They have Air America no one is trying to shut it down. It's the left who protests conservative speakers and throws food at those who disagree. It is the left who have repeatedly rounded up conservative papers on campus and burned them. They are the ones trying to get conservative hosts off the air. They are the ones who complain about conservative forums and want them stopped. Just because we disagree with them we must be silenced. Now this obviously does not apply to all who believe collectivism will work but it does apply to most of their leaders throughout history. Most revolutions started by convincing the masses they were oppressed and manipulating them to create the movement. Once they bought into the cause they could then be easily controlled.

For many on the left the truth and facts are just inconvenient things that get in the way of the Idealistic movement.

The Big Bucks in Going Green

It's amazing how big oil and other big companies are demonized by the left, yet there seems to be no scrutiny of the big money to be made in going green. NBC proudly touts how it is the green network and promotes climate change scares and we need to go green. HHMMM! It must be because they are so eco consious and want to better the planet. How about those evil big lobbyists bribing our Washington elites for passing legislation to benefit their companies bottom line. Going green is surely of purist good intentions of saving the planet for future generations, even if it means ensuring the future generations will remain poverty stricken and ill-equipped to deal with the challenges of the future to include climate change.

In 1997 CEO's and lobbyists met with President Clinton and Vice President Gore on the implementation of the much touted Kyoto Protocol. Kyoto would implement worldwide taxes on companies based on how much carbon they emitted to encourage switching to Wind and Solar energies. This was one of the leading energy companies which invested billions in green energy, the CEO Ken Lay the corporation ENRON. Kyoto if implemented will cause extreme hardships on industrialized nations with the pretense of slowing global warming even though it's authors admit the effect will be negligible. Dupont, British Petroleum, PG&E, Cinergy and not to mention the Trillions to be made by big governments around the world. Money that will be used to limit choices and freedom and keep poorer countries from advancing as they can't afford the very expensive green energies.

How about NBC and it's going green campaign? Surely it's all about saving the planet! Of course it doesn't hurt that General Electric owns NBC and it's affiliates where it gets free agenda promotion for all the far more expensive energy efficient appliances it sells. Oh how convenient that GE lobbied congress to pass laws mandating the three dollar light bulb they make in place of the 45 cent one. I fell for it bought the expensive energy efficient ones and saw no change in my electric bill, do I need to call a HAZMAT team to dispose of the Mercury filled bulbs that last longer, unless you use them more than four hours a day then the efficiency is decreased. GE made out on that lobby effort along with the local governments making more on the sales taxes on the more expensive bulbs.

How about the green leader in Al Gore, his intentions are strictly pure and he only covers necessary expenses right. Not quite, he has made millions from his movie, speaking fees and appearances around the world. Now he does purchase carbon offsets keeping him "Carbon Neutral", he is not reducing anything he just pays someone else to do it. But wait who is he paying? Oh! He pays Generation Investment Management who he just happens to be a member of the board and stockholder. He is effectively buying stock in his own companies and is banking on world governments forcing all of us to pay his company for our carbon offsets, how convenient for him and his cronies. Another fine example of the rich do gooder's getting richer while scolding the poor for not listening to them.

Now I have no problems with anyone who wants to go green. If cutting food production and eliminating land options by using millions of acres of land for windmills, solar array fields and growing fuel for green energy makes them feel better it's all good. If they want to use land less efficiently for Organic products and pay the higher price for them, great! Have at it. My problem is that many of them want to force everyone else to do it through force by eliminating our freedoms, raising taxes, and expanding government control over every aspect of our lives. If green energy was so efficient, economical and had a bright future it would not need billions of dollars in subsidies and companies would be clamouring for it. I would like just one green idea that does not involve raising taxes and expanding government, and it's not just taxes on companies there will be higher taxes on gas and many other everyday products increasing cost for the rich, middle class and poor alike. So it won't just be the rich who pay and get taxed it will be everyone.

Big Government and Good Itentions: How to create and continue Disaster

For the last 80 or so years now Big Government and activist groups good intentions have been tried to help "The People" and has created far more problems than it has solved. Good intentions are admirable but when their poor results are constantly ignored and not learned from the mistakes and poor results will continue, but as long as the people with good intentions "feel better" about themselves and their initial acts look good then everything is okay. Also if those with good intentions can make those with undesirable good ideas of ingenuity, the free market and individual responsibility look bad that is a plus.

In the 1920's the U.S. under Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge had some of it's best economic times. The U.S. by the end of the decade produced 34% of the worlds GDP followed by England and Germany at 10%. In 1926 unemployment was at 1% under Andrew Mellon who served as Secretary of Treasury under both Presidents. How did they achieve such prosperity? They dramatically lowered taxes which in turn increased revenue and stayed out of the way of the economy and American People and they stay out of nasty world affairs. This is probably why many historians over the decades don't give them high marks because they limited government, lowered taxes and avoided social welfare plans and schemes.

Hoover should have followed Harding who let the downturn of '20-21 work itself out, instead he made the '29-30 recession the Great Depression with a year of non-stop government intervention. First by demanding businesses keep wages high, second by interfering in agriculture, because of WWI, farm production dramatically increased but afterwards there were too many farmers. Hoover created The Federal Farm Board and paid farmers no to produce, if left alone many of the farms would have shut down and other areas of production increased instead farmers were paid not to produce and dictate prices and other industries floundered. Hoover raised taxes on over 25,000 imported items making them harder to buy and exports were in turn hit with tariffs making our products harder to sell. He continued to interfere in business, increase government spending and things continued to get worse. In comes FDR whose policies were not original but expansions of Hoover. More government intervention that resulted in artificially high wages and prices which resulted in job losses, hardships for the people and uncertainty in what the government would do next caused investors to stay away. Government did not get us out of the depression it extended it three to four years.

LBJ and the Great Society created generational welfare, destroyed the family structure, and created government paid health care when most of that care was done Pro bono before government intervention. The poor had better health care access before Medicare. Medicare increased costs in the long run as services that were voluntarily done for free or reduced prices are no longer done increasing prices for everyone. Government intervention through numerous intrusive regulations by the EPA which had good intentions to hold business responsible for pollution has since been abused by activists to put a stranglehold on them instead. If business meets standards raise the standard and fine them again, it's been the free market that has cleaned the air, water and cut back on pollution not government. People keep pointing at the poor in New Orleans calling for government help when it has been government policies and welfare that created the problem of dependency.

Other good intentions that kill are the false scare of Frankenfood. Agriculturalists and farmers have created safe efficient ways to grow more pest and weather resistant food and better farming techniques but the good intentioned environmentalist convinced thousands of Africans it was better to starve today than risk cancer in twenty years. Food rotted in ports and people went hungry. DDT banned-- OOPS doesn't cause cancer ten million poor people die needlessly of malaria, SORRY! we meant well! Now we must stop CO2 from pollution, the same pollution we exhale and is emitted by oceans and rotting foliage, and if it is causing food shortages so be it. If poor countries must stay ill equipped because Kyoto is better, we think, maybe, then so be it our good intentions will make us feel better.

Now we need to make the government even bigger and put it in charge of more things to screw up, Nationalized health care, mortgage bailouts, carbon taxes, ban any use of our own natural resources. If it's a choice between FDR and Calvin Coolidge, big government and evil unfettered free markets. I will pick Coolidge and free markets, contrary to popular belief they worked much better. The economy will have highs and lows and it always works itself especially when the government stays out of it.

Have a nice Government Approved Day!!!!

McCain and the Global Warming Hoax!

Senator McCain has recently spoken several times about agreeing to Kyoto if all countries are included and implementing carbon cap and trade schemes. He teamed up for McCain/Leiberman to introduce a 50 cent a gallon gas tax. He is doing this to pander to activist groups and a greatly uninformed and misinformed public. Senator McCain needs to do much more reading of the scientific facts now available to us through new technologies developed over the last twenty years. Satellite imaging and mass spectrometers have only been used recently and have revealed a wealth of knowledge provided by the planet and it's own history.

Most of the global warming advocates "science" is based on insufficient or altered information and computer models that try to predict the future, models that have been proven to be faulty because of factors they can't take into account such as cloud cover and solar activity. There is scientific consensus that Climate Change occurs. There is no consensus that man made CO2 has any noticeable effect. Seventy five percent of the CO2 is emitted by the oceans as they warm. There is plenty of evidence that the Roman Warming period and the Medieval warming period were global not regional and were warmer than it is today. It is quite possible that more warming will be more beneficial than devastating. Studies have shown that most crops and plants flourish with more and more CO2. Warming has shown to increase habitat areas of wildlife as it moves north while still maintaining their southern areas.

During the Medieval Warming Period 800-1250 AD the Vikings inhabited the northern parts of Greenland along with the Inuits because of plenty of lush farmland and grazing land for cattle and sheep. It was the Little Ice Age from 1300-1850 AD that forced the Vikings out of Greenland. Northern Europe grew grapes and olives because the warmer climate supported more crops during the Medieval and Roman warming periods. Plants, animals and humans flourished during these times and will again.

Scientists, geologists, archaeologists, meteorologists, climatologists, economists and records historians aka "skeptics" used the information provided by the planet itself and modern technology only recently available to study mile long ice cores, sea and lake bed sediment cores, tree rings, advancing and retreating tree lines and glaciers, stalagmites and stalactites, satellite imaging, phytoplankton fossils, levels of various oxygen and carbon isotopes, animal and human migrations, fossils, human and animal remains from villages a 1000 years old and finally historical records tracking crop growth and trade movement around the world. All of these factors were measured in Europe, Africa, Antarctica, North and South America and Asia and all very comprehensive.

For one seventh the cost of Kyoto we can provide poor countries with proper water treatment and sewage plants, energy plants to provide air conditioning, heating and proper refrigeration and cooking appliances. Provide vaccines, medical facilities, mosquito nets, aids education and vaccines to eradicate many common diseases. Access to television and computers to advance educational opportunities and finally introduce new irrigation and modern farming techniques. All of these will help make it easier to give poor countries a much better opportunity to deal with climate change instead of making it more difficult for richer countries to deal with it.

If Senator McCain really wants to be a "Maverick" then he must start studying the research and help inform all Americans of the actual scientific evidence not the Political scientific gibberish. Far more people die because of cold related deaths than heat related deaths. Kyoto will have crushing effects on economies and have almost no noticeable effect on climate in hopes of affecting people 50 to 100 years from now or we could use much less money to improve the lives of millions now. For the global warming alarmists it's all about ineffective and inefficient wealth redistribution that will only make millions more poorer and very few better off. How about we smarten up and prepare everyone to better deal with inevitable and unstoppable Global Climate Change.

Some Global Warming Tidbits

Many of the global warming activists are in a terrible quandry. How do they get people to buy into their plans to fix man made global warming via global wealth redistribution before most people find out that man has very little impact and their plans will make almost no difference. The activists best prediction of the impact their plans will make is 0.67 degrees over 50 years. They are trying to end discussion saying there is consensus even though over 1700 scienctists, climatoligists, geoligist and economic experts disagree. There is consensus that Climate change does occur and noone disputes that. The activists though don't want to talk about what is causing it so anyone who disagrees is called names, threatened to have funding taken and is publicly flogged by the global warming enthusiasts. The real story is that after the fall of the Soviet Union the socialists and communits had to find another way to push their agenda and they adopted the evironmental movement for cover. This is not all inclusive as some of the environmentalist do have good intentions for proper care of our planet but their cause has been hijacked. The goal of the current environmental leaders is not to save the environment but world wide socialism.

Just a simple question for you. There have been at least four proven Ice Ages, what caused the Ice Ages to occur? Anyone? That's Right - Climate change in the form of Global Cooling.
How about this, What caused the Ice Ages to end? Hello? Come on you can say it. That's right Climate change in the form of Global Warming! Amazingly this all occured before man had created any inventions beyond basic tools and had zero impact on the planet. We are currently existing quite happily and productivly in an inter-glacial period. The next Ice Age will occur we just don't know when. The great technological advances man has made just means we will be better equipped for it. The activist want to use global climate change to control every aspect of your lives.

One of the dirty little secrets the activist don't want you to know is that the all knowing computer models they go by leave out two key factors. The computer models don't acount for cloud cover or water vapor the number one greenhouse gas, considering the planet is 75% water covered you would think this would be kind of an important factor to leave out. The other thing not taken into consideration is kind of important too, that pesky little thing in the sky, you know that big bright ball of fire called the sun. Apparently the Global warming enthusiast left out how Solar activity can affect the planet, OOOPS!

Those evil sceptics recently took the activists favorite computer models and applied them to recent decades to see how accurate they were and discovered that the models were? You guessed it! Wrong! The models predicted more global warming than what had actually occured. One current trend they are not publishing and why they are saying that we must act now is that since 2000 global satellite imaging has shown no warming. It actually appears that global warming is on an eight years hiatus. HMMM! Coincidentally the solar activity has decreased dramatically during that same time. Solar activity runs in 20-30 year cycles which just happens to match the warming and cooling periods over the last century. It's amazing the results you get when significant factors are included.

Another trick is to show melting glaciers and especially show video from mid summer the warmest time of the year. Of corse they can't show the video in the winter because the environment is too harsh to be there. Also don't show the glaciers that are advancing of which there are many. The Mt. St. Helens observatory is about to be crushed by an advancing glacier, again OOPS! Antarctica is actually growing at suprising pace, the largest glacier in the Andes mountains is advancing. Don't worry though these are just annoying little facts you don't need to know about. Interestingly the former Canadian Minister of Environment plainly stated that "even if global warming is a hoax (yes they said hoax) we can use it to advance world wide wealth redistribution". These sentiments were repeated many times at the Global climate conference in December 2007. You know the conference in the sunny Tropiacal area where they had to park their private planes on another island.

Why are all their solutions designed to hurt developed countries economies and exempt China, India, Brazil and Mexico some of the worst polluters from any standards. I just want you to think a little bit and ask yourself, why did the Ice ages come and go, because man had nothing to do with it. Perhaps it's just what our wonderful little plantet does all by it's wee little lonesome self.

Liberal Hypocrasy on our Freedoms!!

I was reading about how the liberals in congress only want a temporary extension on the FISA bill to allow phone companies to assist the government. The government wants warrentless wiretaps to listen to foriegn terrorist suspects phoning into and out of the U.S. How horrible, what an invasion of our right to privacy. The liberals get all up in arms when tracking terrorists, securing the borders and controlling immigration to protect U.S. citizens is mentioned and they champion our constitutional rights. Freedom of choice for abortion is also high on the list and the freedom to have sex with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Ok maybe the last one is a bit of an exaggeration not that they are not too far off. They love freedom of religion just keep it out of the public square and schools, unless your Muslim then freely practice it anywhere and they will even make it a mandatory class in school to learn. If you are Christian leave that bible at home!

Of course the same liberals that don't like FISA and those bully christians in schools ignoring the line between church and state, the same ones who protect a woman's privacy on their choice of abortion, the one's who scream that the government should be out of our bedroom and show compassion for drug addicts and not punish their crimes. These are the freedoms of choice they are for. Now let's take a closer look at how much they love and want to protect our rights and freedoms. Just how much do liberals love freedom of choice and our rights.

--They oppose the freedom of school choice in the form of vouchers.
-- "It's a GOVERNMENT school for you unwashed masses."
--They oppose the rights of gun ownership "that pesky little 2nd ammendment thing".
--They love freedom of speech unless you disagree with them. Some examples:
-- The fairness doctrine that will hurt that nasty talk radio crowd and give liberals equal
time on the air, "especially since they can't get heard on their own."
-- It's tolerant liberal students that round up conservative newspapers so people can't
read them. " And they make great kindling for the campus bonfires"
-- It's those loving liberals that protest conservative speakers on campus.
"Bring your pies and test your throwing arm"
-- How about the freedom to manage your own healthcare? Nope it's mandatory
government health care for you. "The positive is Rich liberals will still get the best
private care."
-- Just a look into the future because your health depends on it and to keep costs down
"NO sugary, fatty or tasty food for you" " Free soy burgers, ricecakes, and tofu for
everyone!" Yeah!
-- How about freedom of speech? Nope!! It might offend someone, somewhere, sometime.
Especially when you disgree with GLOBAL WARMING ! "Isn't Pollitical correctnes great!!
Oh wait complete freedom of speech will be allowed in movies, tv,music and art "just to
protect the integrity of the artist"
-- How about owning your business! Great! "Just don't let it get BIG! that's BAAADD!!"
-- Those evil big corperations BAD! BIG GOVERNMENT HOORAAYYY!!
-- How about private land ownership? "Only if it doesn't get in the way of tax revenue's"

--OOPS! I forgot, they love the freedom to sue anyone, anywhere. anytime for any reason!
Lawerly Love!!

Well those are just a few thing off the top of my head. I'm sure there are a few more. Just remember it's all for our own good and the heartfilled hopefull liberal government will take great care of you. You only have to sacrifice a few freedoms for the common good.

HAVE A NICE GOVERNMENT APPROVED DAY!!!!

The entertainment industry: Activism or Naivete'

I was watching a biography show the other day as I watch many out of interest.  This one was about an actor and I noticed a common point made in the biographies about entertainers and artisans.  This common thread was that so many of them suffer from deep insecurities gained from early childhood and teen years.  Many of them are caused by traumatic experiences, parental neglect or perhaps from ridicule from peers in school.  Many, certainly not all, had poor grades in school and found themselves in the arts where they discovered themselves and felt at home whether it be acting, music or creating works of art.  From that point on they received the positive feedback they had been craving.  The problem is they never seem to be satisfied with the success and accolades they receive.  Desire to improve what we do is in all of us and most of us appreciate it when we have accomplished something and we move on in pride to achieve more.  Yet many in the entertainment world suffer from depression and insecurities they cannot shake.  They still relentlessly seek approval and acceptance and will never get enough to satisfy their need for attention.  It is this trait that makes them vulnerable to activists who take advantage of their insecurities, guilt of their riches and true naivete' of life outside they insulated world they have created for themselves.  We forget that their entire careers and lives are wrapped up in pretending to be someone else, writing music dwelling on the past tragedies or fantasies or creating art not based in reality.  Then in success they insulate themselves from reality.

Yes many have done and continue to good charitable work, something to be proud of and commended for.  But they often fall victim by only looking at the problem not the causes.  Activists show them pictures, videos and statistics that pull at the heartstrings and purse strings getting them to advocate their causes while leaving out relevant facts that could change their opinion.  Activists count on them not to do independent research to reveal the activists true intentions.  The entertainers travel all over the world to see all the problems and symptoms but not the causes.  Then they are convinced that the problem is the greedy Americans and the evil United States who are taking advantage of the rest of the world.  They ignore the oppressive governments and ideologies and believe in a utopian society in which they will be the example.  Of course with very few exceptions they have no intention of giving up their fortunes or living by the same system they advocate.  The will not decrease their energy use they will buy it, they will still have private doctors and hospitals and they will still live lives of luxury and influence while the rest of us make sacrifices in choices, standard of living and most importantly sacrificing our freedoms and liberties for the sake of the common good.

The entertainment establishment lives in an insulated, self righteous and naive world.  When their opinions are challenged they claim they are being oppressed and disrespected and their rights are being violated when they are the ones trying to silence the opposition.  They are heard whenever they want to be and honestly believe the people who don't have fame to use and spout opinion create an uproar they are being oppressed.  They oppose and claim how horrific capitalism is, the very same capitalism and free markets that made them rich and famous.  They make mistakes and fools of themselves and break laws and get sympathy and go to rehab while us average unknown Americans go to jail and lose our jobs.  If most of them would think for themselves, do a little independent research and think with common sense and logic I believe they would change their minds.  But the reality is they will stay in their insulated little worlds and advocate positions that make the feel better and feed their insecurities and need for attention.

Has the Conservative base been abandoned?

Watching a lot of the pundits, the polls, the debates and listening the rhetoric I wonder if conservatism has been abandoned by the general public.  When I see the news and the polls about the health care issue, the denial of the crushing burden that Social Security and Medicare will become.  When I hear average people sound convinced about the rich not paying their fair share.  When I hear average people say they are worried about global warming. I wonder if the country that was founded on conservatism, individuality, hard work and pride has been lost to complacency, 30 second sound bites, and the ignorance of not wanting all the facts to make a decision.  The Democratic party has rejected the JFK model and thrown out good men like Zell Miller, and even Joe Lieberman.   The Republican party are ignoring the only true conservatives in the Presidential race Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter.

A friend of mine an elderly woman who has a home in Scotland and Arizona confirmed one of my predictions.  I mentioned to her the other day that I thought Europe would be under Islamic rule in 10-15 years and her response took me by surprise by how quick it was, she said "It already is" referring to one law after another being passed to placate Islamism.  This is bothersome as so many Americans and our politicians promote becoming more like Europe.  They just don't understand that we threw off those shackles 232 years ago for a reason and it has even more meaning today as the Europeans don't have the will to fight anymore.

With Huckabee and McCain leading the Republican party as populists and the rising popularity of Obama I wonder if the conservative movement is in trouble.  Not because of our beliefs but because of popular culture and old fashioned laziness and ignorance of what is happening around them.

I hope we can wake the American people up before it is too late.  I hope Thompson and Hunter can been seen for their message and overcome the money, flash and populism the other candidates put forth.  Hopefully watching the Democrats run congress will snap the GOP voters out of it and motivate them to put good conservative representatives back in  during the next election.

I truly do hope I am wrong otherwise the 30 second society wins.
